In the Christian tradition this is formalised in the Liturgy of the Hours.  Sr Macrina Wiederkehr osb draws on her Benedictine life in her book <strong><em>Seven Sacred Pauses<\/em><\/strong> and suggests a framework for prayer throughout the day. I ask God to dispel all that would entangle me. I ask for clear sight and courage.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card  sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=#collapse10394 href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  aria-expanded=\"false\"><i class=\"ea-expand-icon fa fa-plus\"><\/i> The Wisdom Hour<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse \" id=\"collapse10394\" data-parent=#sp-ea-1039><div class=\"ea-body\"><p>At mid-afternoon I pause and hold before God all the things that I would like to finish. I ask for peace for all that can be completed and all that can't.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card  sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=#collapse10395 href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  aria-expanded=\"false\"><i class=\"ea-expand-icon fa fa-plus\"><\/i> The Twilight Hour<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse \" id=\"collapse10395\" data-parent=#sp-ea-1039><div class=\"ea-body\"><p>As the shadows lengthen I give thanks for God's presence throughout this day. What has been the greatest blessing of this day? Where has God's power been revealed to me?<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card  sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=#collapse10396 href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  aria-expanded=\"false\"><i class=\"ea-expand-icon fa fa-plus\"><\/i> The Great Silence<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse \" id=\"collapse10396\" data-parent=#sp-ea-1039><div class=\"ea-body\"><p style=\"margin: 15.0pt 0cm 15.0pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16.0pt; color: black;\">Before I drift into sleep I pause for a final time and review the day.<br \/>\nI ask for forgiveness and strength, and surrender myself to God.
